Daydreams

of liquid rainbows
of barefoot feet
of technicolor sunshine bows

of fruit not yet ripened
of dances late into the night
of color unbounded...

It makes me feel like a little bird
trapped in a dismal cage
waiting for a single key
to set me free.

Oh summer, you make my heart swim.

Watercolor Pencils

Sits down in creaky desk chair.

Pulls out a metal pan of pencils that, like flower buds, bloom when impacted with water.

The brown penciled curves form under gripping fingers.

The brush is dipped in water. Yes, the old kid's cup from Red Robbin. (Those were good times.)

Let the painting begin.

Lyrical

It's been a while, hasn't it?

Time caught up, and so did reality. My creativity has been exercised in other paths, but now I have begun to channel them personally once more.

Here are a few frames that illustrate words my heart loves:

"For now we see in a mirror dimly,
But then, face to face..."

[1 Cor. 13:12, NKJV]

A penny for your thoughts is worth a thousand words
'cause the words come tumbling out.
I can't stop thinking,
'cause the thoughts keep flowing,
'cause the world keeps turning around

[Words of my own, that will someday be put to song.]
