The Road Ahead

Sometimes you sit in the bleachers and watch while other people do the hard things.

Sometimes you sit in the back seat while the someone else drives.

And when your turn comes to get up and step on the floor or grasp the wheel, it can be the scariest thing in the world.

As well as the most exciting.

All you can do is trust in God and do what you saw the person before you do, though in the way God made you to do it.

Welcome, Junior year of High School. We'll see how I drive this road ahead.

P.S- as this is my second-to-last day of Summer break, we'll see where posting on this blog goes. I originally created it to be a retreat of sorts during the months when school is over, so I have yet to find out where this haven fits in with everything else as the semester begins. So until then, adieu and thanks for being the best readers a gal could ask for! xo

  1. ah. i love this. the way you wrote it... that's exactly how i feel. i'm going to be a senior this year and i have no idea whats going to happen after. i also just got my drivers license after seventeen years of sitting the the back seat and watching others drive. its not hard, just scary and different. so here's to what comes next. i wish you all the best.

p.s. i would not be opposed one bit to reading this blog all through the year.
p.p.s. the last image is the very definition of summer.

  3. How exciting! I'm going into my junior year, as well. It feels like it will be a year filled with excitement as well as a fair bit of stress. I'm so glad you started this lovely little space, whether or not you keep posting through the fall. It truly was like seeing a little slice of your summer!
